Getting started
The usual order of operations
Setup & Upload
Equivalent to the Data Entry tab: bring in your data, then set the parameters that drive every calculation downstream.
1 · Upload data
Excel files (.xlsx). Parsed entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server.
BOM Catalog
Required columns: Device, Part ID, Name, Qty/Unit. Replaces the active catalog.
See example format
One row per device + part:
| Device | Part ID | Name | Qty/Unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Black Box | BB-1000 | Black Box Main Body | 1 |
| Z1 | Z1-1005 | Z1 head Screw | 4 |
| Home Sense | HS-1025 | Home Sense Box | 1 |
Optional columns, read automatically if present: Name (Arabic), Applies to Color(s), Color Coverage Ratio.
Matched by Device + Part ID against the current catalog: an existing part keeps its Dependency IDs, Device-based checkbox, and Exclude status untouched — only Name/Qty/Unit (and the optional fields above) update. A part missing from the new file is moved to Excluded BOM Lines rather than silently deleted. A new Device or Part ID is added automatically.
Sales data
Expected columns: Device, Month (or Jan–Dec columns), Units Sold.
See example format
Long format — one row per device per month:
| Device | Month | Units Sold |
|---|---|---|
| Black Box | Jan | 420 |
| Black Box | Feb | 395 |
| Home Sense | Jan | 610 |
Wide format also works — one column per month:
| Device | Jan | Feb | Mar |
|---|---|---|---|
| Black Box | 420 | 395 | 460 |
| Home Sense | 610 | 585 | 600 |
Historical repair data
Expected columns: Date, Device, Part Name, Type (Used/Removed).
See example format
One row per repair ticket / part used:
| Date | Device | Part Name | Type | Color |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-01-14 | Black Box | Black Box Circuit Board | Used | Black |
| 2026-01-16 | Home Sense | Home Sense Box | Used | |
| 2026-01-20 | Black Box | Black Box Tank | Removed | White |
Color is optional — only needed for parts whose BOM Catalog row has a Color Key set. "Type" should say Used for parts consumed in a repair (Removed rows are ignored).
Column names are matched flexibly (case-insensitive, common synonyms). If a file doesn't parse as expected, check the column headers match the pattern above.
2 · Forecast parameters
Same levers as Data Entry Sections 1–3
3 · Devices & planned units
Tick which devices feed the analysis, and set next quarter's planned unit sales for each (defaults to last quarter's total once sales data is loaded).
BOM Catalog
The master parts list. Edit any cell directly. Tick Exclude to move a line to Excluded BOM Lines.
| Exclude | Device | Part ID | Name (EN) | Name (AR) | Qty / Unit | Color Ratio | Color Key | Dependency 1 | Dependency 2 | Device-based? |

Excluded BOM Lines
Catalogues, warranty cards, fragrance SKUs, and anything else you've excluded from active forecasting.
| Device | Part ID | Name | Qty | Reason |
|---|
Repair Demand
Repair counts per part, matched from your uploaded repair history by device + part name.
| Device | Part ID | Name | Total Repairs | Avg / Period | StDev / Period |

Forecast
Per-part demand tier and recommended stock per period — CV/Normal buffer for high-signal parts, Poisson safety stock for low-signal parts.
| Device | Part ID | Name | Total Repairs | Avg/Period (λ) | CV | Tier | Method | Recommended Stock/Period |
|---|
Next Quarter Order
Sales-based + repair-based need, dependency & device-based alternatives, four order modes.
